Shaoyang is a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province, historically known as "Baoqing". Located in the southwest of central Hunan, upstream of the Zijiang River; Crossing the mountain ranges meanders to the east and south, while Xuefeng Mountain stands tall to the west and north. The Zijiang River flows through the entire area from southwest to northeast, with a hilly basin in the middle.

Dushu Lake has a unique geographical location, surrounded by the lake, with a tunnel passing through the bottom of the lake, connecting the east and west of the lake.
